Clifford “Cliff” B. Weber 75 of Sturgis passed away Friday, January 01, 2010 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be from 12-7:00pm with family present from 5-7:00 pm Tuesday, January, 5, 2010 at the Black Hills Funeral Home, with a 7:00pm prayer service. A funeral service will be 10:00am Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis, with Rev. Kyle Reinhiller officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Ridge Cemetery near Deadwood.
Cliff graduated from high school in Columbus, NE in 1951. Following high school he worked for the Loop River Public Power District as a Hydro Power Plant operator and was an active member of the Air Force National Guard of the 173rd Fighter Bomber Squadron.
In 1961, he began his Civil Service Career with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers where he dedicated 37 years holding many different positions and working at numerous sites. His last assignment was serving as Project Manager of the Oahe Dam, Pierre, SD, holding that position until his retirement on August 1, 1998.
On February 29, 1992 he married Patti Weischedel. Patti was Cliff’s greatest love and the two of them were able to share their dreams together. Cliff’s passion was to retire to the Black Hills and enjoy his time with family and friends. Some of his many hobbies included golfing, bowling, playing cards, fishing, hunting, and camping. He loved all types of sports and was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker Fan.
Cliff was a genuine, kind, and loving person. He had once been asked to use 3 words to describe himself; caring, relaxed, and observant were the three he chose. Cliff’s love for people and his kindness to help anyone as well as his smile, his laugh, and his presence will be missed by all.
Survivors include his wife Patti of Sturgis, sons Lance Weber of Gillette, WY, Rick Weber of Mentone, AL, Jeffrey Weber of Chamberlain, SD, daughters Jamie & Conrad Mikaelian of Palm Dessert, CA, Becki & Aaron Erickson of Watertown, SD, brothers Harold Weber of Rapid City, SD, Ken & Ida Lois Weber of Tulsa, OK, sisters Luella Tworek of Blair, NE, Enola & Marv Luchsinger of Columbus, NE, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sister Lucille Welch, son Darren Weischedel, and his parents.
